When I was elected to be the Writer-in-Residence at VU, I came up with the plan to engage interested students and staff members in composing an anthology of their favorite short stories, all originally written in languages other than English. After all, as an author and reader myself, it is my experience that we are often predominantly focused on the English language, and more specifically, its American variant.
