Editor’s Note

Dear Readers,

We are delighted to welcome you back! After a 1.5-year-long hiatus, Expanded Field has returned with a new team, eager to implement their creative vision on the beloved magazine. The process of reinstating Expanded Field has been challenging in many ways as most of the Team was doing everything for the first time, learning along the way. Nonetheless, the Team has managed to put together their first Expanded Field issue with great enthusiasm and devotion. After months of hard work, it is with great pride that we present to you our newest issue, Rebirth: New Beginnings.

Though we heavily encouraged everyone to interpret the theme as creatively as they would like, the Team itself envisioned Rebirth: New Beginnings to be symbolic of both the “rebirth” of Expanded Field—returning with a new team after a significant amount of time—as well as the Spring season, as we are publishing this issue in April. Some of the works in the Rebirth issue might be perceived to adhere to more traditional Spring and nature imagery, whereas, in some of the works, the theme is smartly embedded, almost hidden, within the text. We wish for you, our reader, to go on a journey with us through the artists’ various interpretations of the theme.

We would like to thank the authors for putting their faith in our Team and for entrusting us with your amazing works; without you, there would be no Expanded Field. Moreover, we would like to thank everyone who has kept following Expanded Field and who has kept sending in their work even during our hiatus.

Rebirth: New Beginnings is now yours.
